Well, Christmas was butt-loads of fun this year. On Christmas Eve, we went to Grandma Shoup's house, like usual. My grandparents are such sweethearts, they make sure *everyone* who comes to their house of Christmas Eve has a stocking to go through. Besides cute little teddy bears and lots of candy, everybody gets an apple, an orange, and a handful of walnuts. Some people, like my brother, think this is a bit stupid. I think it's awesome, though, for the reason Grandma puts them in there. She grew up during the depression, and her family hardly ever got to eat anything other than bread and soup. But on Christmas, her mom managed to get a hold of an apple, orange, and handful of walnuts for each of them, and put them in their stockings. So, it's important to Grandma to put those things in *our* stockings, even though she really stocks up for Christmas Eve dinner at her house (this year their 'fridge wasn't big enough to hold it all). Cool, huh?

When we'd finished going through our stockings, it was time to open presents. My step siblings came over, and Zach and I were so surprised that Carrie (my step-sister) got us each a gift! She bought us each these really good Paul Mitchell hair care kits. What a sweetheart she is! Zach and I did feel terrible that we didn't get Carrie anything, though. My grandparents got my awesome stuff like an Avon breast cancer awareness teddy bear, the Harry Potter Playstation game I asked them for, and the Grinch and Shrek DVDs. Some obnoxious kid said that Harry Potter was a "demonic influence" and that I shouldn't like it. My hilarious step-brother Billy, who reeked of pot replied, "I haven't seen Harry Potter yet, but it can't be *that* bad." Heheh.

7:00 rolled around, and we headed over to church for the Christmas Eve service. This is my favorite part of the entire year. We lit candles and sang Christmas hymns, then our minister read the verse that Linus does on the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. But for some stupid reason, I sat with Zach and his friend, Andy, who drew cartoon characters on their bulletins and pretended to set the pew on front of them in fire, while singing in goofy voices. After church, Zach, Andy, me, and my crush and Andy's brother, Tim, headed back to Grandma Shoup's house for leftover sub sandwiches and pumpkin pie.

Christmas Day was awesome as well. When Zach woke me up, I could hear my least-favorite movie, The Christmas Story, blaring on the TV in the family room, so I didn't want to get up. However, I was starving, and it *was*, after all, CHRISTMAS MORNING! So I ambled out to the family room, plunked down on the couch, and scarfed down the delicious raspberry danish Dad had bought for breakfast.

Zach and I got Dad the Forearm Builder he'd asked for, and he seemed to love it, so that was cool. We also stuffed a stocking full of various chocolate candies for him, so I think our Christmas gift to him was kind of an oxy-moron or something. It was like, "Hey Dad, here's some excersize equipment... and here's some candy, too!"

The first thing Zach and I opened (well... I actually just sat there and left the opening to him) was... AN X-BOX! Then, I opened... A DVD PLAYER! Then we could get to our other presents, which were all DVDs, X-Box games, and clothes. I got the X-Box games Simpsons Road Rage and Shrek while Zach got the games Halo and Project Gotham. I also opened the DVDs Heartbreakers, Legally Blonde and Wayne's World 1 and 2. Then we opened a bunch of really nice, dressy clothes, which shows Dad is trying to force Zach and I out of our every-day outfits of T-shirts and jeans.

That afternoon, we went over to my aunt Barb's house, like always. Since Zach had to work all night Christmas Eve, he slept a good portion of his Christmas Day away. Poor guy... After our Christmas lunch/dinner (at like... 3:30 or something), prepared by Grandma Z. and Aunt Barb, we went to the living room to open presents. Grandma Z.'s presents for me were no surprise, as I was with her when she bought them. I had picked out my own gift, which was a glittery, striped pink turtleneck sweater and a skirt to match. She also got me a surprise... a beautiful, delicate sterling silver bracelets with little hearts dangling from it, and Britney Spears' new CD. Rockin'! Aunt Barb, Uncle Don, Lindsay and Jennifer got me a very pretty glittery pink decoration for my room, and The Grinch DVD. Since I'd already gotten The Grinch from the Grandparents Shoup, I took it back and exchanged it for Save the Last Dance, so that worked out good.

The day after Christmas (Boxing Day), Zach and I had our Christmas morning with my mom and Mike in Bay City. This was where I got my favorite Christmas presents... HARRY POTTER STUFF! Mom got me two Harry Potter pillows: One that says "Quidditch" and comes with the golden snitch tucked into a pocket, and one that says "Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans," and it looks like a bag of them. They're both *adorable*, and I love them! I also got Harry Potter sheets, Harry Potter stickers for my wall, the Harry Potter poster book, a Harry Potter calender, a Nimbus 2000 bookmark, chocolate Wizarding money (which I won't eat, of course), plus some non-Harry-Potter-stuff such as the CDs Backstreet Boys-- Hits, Chapter One and a good, not-burned copy of Lifehouse-- No Name Face, which is my favorite band, and CD.

Zach and I got Mom the PETA watch she's been wanting for like, five years or longer, and we filled her a stocking full of little vibrating massager things, which she thought looked like sex toys. We all laughed, and admitted that they did indeed look like sex toys. We were like, "Um... please don't use them for that, though. Ew."

So, as you can tell, Zach and I are spoiled rotten. We get so much stuff for Christmas, it's ridiculous. And today (the 29th), I hung out with Sarah at Grandma Shoup's so we could exchange Christmas gifts. She got me this adorable Pisces zodiac bear that had little attributes on it and everything! I LOVE IT! She also got me Nickelback's single of "How You Remind Me." That song kicks *arse*! I got her a little crystal figurine dragon that she's been wanting since the ninth grade! She seemed to like it, so that's gnarley.

Talk to ya later!

Christmas Survey Stolen From Samantha

Full Name: Holly Rachael Zintel.

Age: 17

Birthday: February 28th, 1984

OK on with the survey...

What was the best christmas present you ever got? Tinsel, my first cat. I think that was 1992.

What was the worst christmas present you ever got? This electronic math game from my Grandma Z. I exchanged it for a toy slot machine.

What is your favorite thing about Christmas? Looking at Christmas lights with my family while listening to Amy Grant Christmas CDs.

What do you want for Christmas? Wayyyyyyyyyy too much stuff to put on here. What I'd actually really like, though, would be another dog, so my dog wouldn't have to hang out with the cats all the time.

What's your favorite Christmas Carol? "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)" by Amy Grant.

What's your least favorite Christmas carol? That stupid "Who Put the d--k on the Snowman" song Zach has.

How much money did you spend on everyone this year? About twelve dollars so far. What? I've sick! And I'm a late shopper!

Who was on the good list this year? Mom, Dad, both sets of grandparents, Lindsay, Jennifer, Aunt Barb, Uncle Don, Zach, Sarah, Mr. Dufresne, Mrs. Klida and Mrs. Sullivan.

Who was on the bad list this year? Chyna, Daria and Amy (my pets). Nah... they're usually pretty good.

Favorite Christmas memory? Getting Tinsel. That had to be the best memory of my life, really. My mom lined me, Zach, Lindsay and Jennifer up on the couch, and told us all to close our eyes, and that she and dad were going to get a surprise from the basement. When they brought up Tinsel, Zach freaked out, and ran to his room because he thought she was a dog, and he was terrified of dogs at the time. Heheheh, this sweet little kitten... That was the first time I ever actually cried tears of joy.

Least Favorite Christmas memory? While Mom, Zach and I were outside, putting up the Christmas lights one year, Dad came home from the hospital to tell us that Great Aunt Mary had died. We all really loved her, and we cried for like, forever.

Do you believe in Santa Claus? Absolutely!

What are your resoulutions for the new year? I'm going to spend more time with Sarah, try to be nicer to Mike, and try to get to school no matter what.

Have you ever gotten a lump of cole? Nope. I'm a good kid.

Has any of your friends gotten a lump of cole? Nope. They're good kids, most of the time.

Do you know the real meaning of Christmas? Yes. It's what Linus says on the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

Do you celebrate Kwanza? No.

Do you celebrate Hannauka? No.

Do you celebrate Festivest? I... don't know what that is, but I'm pretty sure I don't celebrate it.

Have you ever had your Christmas tree fall? Oh, yeah. It's impossible to keep it up when you have cats around.

Tell us a Christmas Story: Two Christmases ago, I was over at my aunt Barb's house, like usual, and Grandma Z. had just gotten this vibrating massage chair. I sat in it for a while, then Aunt Barb called us out for lunch. Everyone was like, "Well, Holly, what did you think of the chair?" and I honestly replied, "It made me have to poop."

Whats your favorite christmas special? Garfield. I *LOVE* the Garfield Christmas special! Jon's grandma is the coolest chick around. *Sings*: "Keep Christmas here... in your heart..."

Do you like Spongebob Squarepants? I've never seen that show, but everyone says it's cool.

Did you see his Christmas special? No.

Did you like it? N/A.

On a scale of 1-10 how do you rate at being good for Christmas? 9.5.

On a scale of 1-10 how do you rate at giving this year? 6.3.

On a scale of 1-10 how much did you receive this year? Eh... well... Christmas isn't here yet.

What's your favorite Christmas song a popular music group did? "This Gift" by 98 Degrees.

Is your tree this year real or fake? Fake, as always.

Is the trees you've had in the past real or fake? We always have fake trees, and I like it fine that way. You know, no watering required or anything. And they're cheaper, too!

I'm only *moderately* obsessive-compulsive?!

Dude, check it out. This nifty disorder test seems extremely accurate, except it told me I'm MODERATELY obsessive-compulsive. You would think that someone who has constant, repetitive prayers running through their head all day, and can't concentrate on much other than Harry Potter and Daria would be considered *very* obsessive-compulsive. *Shrugs*, Oh well.

Friday was a very mixed up day. The only thought that got me out of bed was, "The Amy Grant concert is tonight." But I was late for school. Then this girl, Amber, that I always talk to in my second hour, said that her step-dad had tried to kill himself the previous night, and she was on the verge of tears all hour, and unable to do her work. I felt terrible for her, but I didn't know what to say. Luckily, a funny guy named Chris always sits with us, too, and joked with her a bit, and I think that cheered her up a little.

The rest of the school day was pretty uneventful until 7th hour when somebody shouted, "Look! It's snowing out!" And it was! Huge snowflakes were coming down, and sticking to the ground! I was so thrilled, thinking we might actually have snow for Christmas. But the snow was that freezing, rainy kind, so it made for awful driving conditions. And of course, we had to drive all the way back to Flint to get my money and binoculars from my dad, then all the way to Auburn Hills. There were so many accidents everywhere, it was unbelievable. We were going like, 45 on the express way.

My mom and I had a lot of trouble finding The Palace of Auburn Hills, as we usually do. Finally I spotted it (yes, me! I never notice *anything*), and we went in to the concert. It was a great Christmas concert this year; Amy gave an awesome speech. She said, "I was talking to a friend of mine who's an artist. I asked her what her favorite color was, and she said, 'Amy, out of all the colors, I'd have to say black is my favorite.' I personally didn't think black really even classified as a color, but she had a very cool reason for black being her favorite color. She said, 'Life is full of bright colors, and they're what get you through. But without black, the colors are just... there. Black provides the depth of a picture, makes it beautiful. And life needs depth. Otherwise, it'd just be a bunch of random colors thrown together." I thought that was *really* cool. The only thing the concert lacked was Michael W. Smith, who's always been there before.

When we hit the road to head back to Flint, we hit quite a snag... I-75, our way home, had been *closed*! I guess they had a really bad weather-related accident. Mom and I got totally lost, and ended up in Port Huron, which is really far away from here. We stopped at numerous 7-11s, but the cashiers either gave us bad directions, or didn't have a *clue* how to get to Flint. The cell phone was convienently dead, but we finally found a pay phone, and called my grandma and grandpa. Oh man, it was like, 2:30 A.M. before we finally got home, and the concert ended at 11:00! We didn't get to bed until 4:30, and we were exhausted.

So, what a weird day Friday was.

Annual Amy Grant Christmas concert tomorrow!

Time: 10:32 P.M.
Song in my head: "Christmas Can't Be Very Far Away" by Amy Grant.
I last ate: Soy Delicious vanilla ice cream.
I'm wearing: Mis-matched floral P.J.s and fluffy blue slippers.
_________________________________________________________

Woo HOO! Tomorrow night is the Amy Grant Christmas concert! I go every single year with my mommy, and sometimes, other people. But this year it's just Mom and I, which is great with me. I hardly ever get to hang out with just Mom anymore! She's pretty mad at Mike because he won't go, since Billy's playing hockey that night, and he wants to see that instead. The Christmas concert is going to be *SO MUCH FUN*, though! It always is! She's bringing her hubby, Vince Gill with her, and I hope she brings her newest baby, Korena. What a little cutie! Amy always dresses in these really cool ball gowns, and she usually has her best friend, Michael W. Smith with her (what a hottie!). I don't think Michael's coming this year, but I'm still REALLY looking forward to the concert!

Mom cut and colored my hair earlier while we were watching news coverage on that stupid-head, Bin Ladden. What a moron, he was all laughing about all the horrible stuff he did... butt-hole! Anyway, though, about my hair, Mom must have cut off like, 4 or 5 inches of hair! Boy, is Sarah going to be mad... she gets quite angry when I cut my hair without telling her. Ah well. And my hair's back to brown, too! No more highlights, 'cause they were uneven and freaking-looking.

Okay, see ya.

What the devil is a "tea cozy"?

Time: 10:38 A.M.
Song in my head: "In Love on Christmas" by 'N Sync
I last ate: Mini-chocolate donuts for breakfast.
I'm wearing: My black Planet Hollywood Bevely Hills T-shirt and tie-up jeans.
_________________________________________________________

So, I was reading this book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, right? They're talking about this elf named Dobby who's wearing a tea cozy for a hat. I was reminded of an episode of The Critic where Jay was reviewing a movie, and he was like, "So, run, don't mozy to the tea *cozy*! Ha *ha*!" and Duke said, "What the devil is a 'tea cozy'?" And I agree. What the devil *is* a tea cozy? Is it some sort of napkin for when you're drinking tea? What about coffee? Can you use it when you drink coffee? I'm totally lost.

Another thing I don't get is, it's freezing and everything, but there's no freaking snow! Where is it all?! Last year, we had like, 7 feet of snow right about now! You couldn't even leave your house, there was so much snow! And now it's like... hey... where's the snow? I mean, we're due for some frickin' snow days already! Geez.

Also, what's up with these idiots in my math class? They do nothing but talk about... well... nothing. I can't believe these morons ever get anything done.

I'm making Sarah what I think is a pretty cool Christmas present. I'm buying her something, too, but I'm really have a lot of fun with what I'm making her. I can't really put it in here, 'cause she'll read it, and then she'll be all... not surprised and stuff.

Okay, I'm gonna go, read some fan fiction. Later!

I was just over at fanfiction.net, reading Harry Potter fan fiction, and I came across this fanfic called "It Was You." It took me like, an hour to read it, but it was so worth it! It was the sweetest, best thing I have read in my whole, entire life.

In this fic, it was Christmas time at Hogwarts, and Ron was going to Egypt or wherever to visit his brother, Bill... or Charlie, one of them. Anyway, Hermione was *really* upset because her parents had owled her and told her that they were going to Japan for the holidays, and that she was to stay at school. Harry, of course, wasn't going anywhere for Christmas, and he got very worried when Hermione just stayed in her dorm, reading all day.

On Christmas Eve, to cheer Hermione up, Harry persuaded her to come outside with him and build a snowman. She stuck to her high-and-mighty Hermione Granger attitude, acting like he was childish for wanting to build snowmen, but she had to admit, it cleared her mind. Soon, they got into a snowball fight, and ended up falling down a hill.

They went inside to sit by the fire in the Gryffindor common room, and they talked, and snuggled, and he kissed her! It was *so*... *sweet*. They kept kissing, and things progressed. They were both all nervous with each other, and they were so cute! Then Professor McGonagall walked in on them, and got all flustered and freaked out. It was just... the best thing I've *ever* read! Everyone *MUST* read it, so for the extremely mushy, hopeless romantics, check out this fan fic--http://fanfiction.net/read.phpstoryid=471816

Okay, see ya!
