Hyperventalation Ensues

Theatre is different this year in the fact that Lori will no longer be just handing out parts and saying, "Okay, get memorizing." This time we'll have to actually try out for parts. Lori has decided we'll be doing I Hate Hamlet, a play in which there are only 6 parts. However, we're to have the play over a course of 4 nights in November, so Lori's going to try this thing called "double casting." That means, two people will play the same part, but on different nights. *Shrugs* But that still means that only about 12 of us will get parts, out of about 22 people who almost all want to act. So crap. The play goes like this: Andy Rally's a TV actor whose girlfriend, Deirdre, thinks he's hot stuff... but she still refuses to have sex with him, or anyone, much to his dismay. When Andy's show gets canceled, TV producer Gary decides to cast him as Hamlet in Shakespeare in the Park, but he... well, isn't a very good actor. So his real estate agent Felicia, his talent agent Lillian & his girlfriend Dierdre, have a seance to bring back the ghost of famous Hamlet actor, John Barrymore (Drew Barrymore's great-great grandpa) to coach Andy so he can play Hamlet well. Sounds good, no?

Wednesday was Script Reading Day in theatre, so we all gathered ourselves into groups of six containing 3 girls and 3 dudes, so that we could read the play together for the first time. In our group, the likable & easily amused Danny played Andy, shy & quiet girl Ashley was Deirdre, good ol' Kyle played Barrymore, cutie-pie Monica was Felicia, the walking pick-up line Ben played Gary, and I was Lillian. I have to say it went quite well, except that Danny seems to be very near-illiterate and Ashley doesn't seem able to say the word "sex" or make out with anyone on stage, as her part requires. Kyle kept helping Danny pronounce words & Ben asked Ashley who turned on the sensors. During this reading, I decided that I very much want to try out for the part of Lillian. She's all old & won't quit smoking... She has hilarious lines, and although Leah will probably also want her part (and may be better at it, seeing as she is a chain-smoker & I'd never touch a cigarette with a 10-foot pole), I REALLY want to be Lillian. I can do a smoker's voice quite well though & perhaps Leah and I can both do the part. I'm not very excited about competing with Leah, as she's my kiddo, but... sigh. I know one thing-- I don't want to do technical work or makeup or directing or... anything other than acting, so over the next week, you can watch me hyperventalate. *Fishes through purse for inhaler* Look, Nick & his wife had their baby and he brought him to class! His name is Jay and Leah seemed to go even more nuts for him than I did.

Leah, Nick & his adorable new baby, Jay

Mom and I went to Great Lakes Crossing yesterday to look for the I Hate Hamlet script in their bookstores, since Lori didn't make enough copies for everyone, and I must practice before trying out. But they didn't have the script there, or at Borders, or at the Borders here in Flint, or anywhere else. While at the mall, we were bumped into by many foreign people who apparently felt the need to yell things back and forth across the mall to each other in
Yugoslavian. In other, completely off-topic news, OH NO, JOHN RITTER DIED! I loved that guy! I had just recently started watching Three's Company reruns and 8 Simple Rules was my favorite show! I watched a special about his life, and Mom and I thought it was quite neat that, when asked what he would do if he wasn't an actor, he replied that he wouldn't want to do anything but act, as that's what I always say... *Hugs for Angel-version of John Ritter as well as his family, friends & cast-mates*

Why Do All the A-Holes Live Here?

I was watching Cribs last night on MTV, and I tell ya what... I've never heard of any of the people I saw on there. Now, these rich folks have some very cool stuff, I admit. Home theaters, jacuzzies, closets that are bigger than my bedroom... Some of these people's backyards even resemble a waterpark or an exotic beach. Now I've got to say, as fabulous as all these things are, I think my dream house would be cooler. The first thing I'd put in my house would be an escalator, for I am lazy, and lot of my family members are caustrophobic. Then the jacuzzies would be added, as well as horses, namely shetland ponies. I think they would get along well with my dog and cats. The home theater would also be necessary. Hmm... I suddenly feel the need to play The Sims. Excuse me...

*Returns momentarily* Anyhoo, there was this weirdo on Cribs who ticked me off to no end. He had animal heads in every room of his house, along with whole dead animals. This guy talked dirtier than the cast of The Osbournes, had hair as greasy as Professor Snape's, and was actually married! And guess where he lived? Michigan! Now, I wanna know what's going on. Why do all the jerks seem to come from Michigan? We've turned out more scumbags than Slytherin, I swear! Eminem, Kid Rock, Madonna... what's the deal here? Honestly!

Huh. You ever notice how when you go through your favorites on FOD, it appears that all the names of FODers are in alphabetical order? Only... that's not alphabetical order, is it? Only on FOD does the alphabet not start with "A", but "*". That's a tad odd. *AHEM*.

So... who hasn't read my story yet? It's not finished yet, but hey. It will be. Hopefully. Ah, come on, humor me! Everyone who reads my fan fiction, Harry Potter--The Bachelor, gets a free cookie. From their cabinet. If they have any cookies. HEY! Speaking of Harry Potter, his new movie comes out FRIDAY! I'm going to see it with my mommy first. *Nods happily* You should all go see this picture here, since FOD won't let me put it on here for some reason. Harry and Hermione are hugging. *Glows in a glow-worm-like fashion*

Good Gravy!

"Oh, thank you, it's just brown and water."--The Simpsons.

Where has this week gone? Last Saturday, I attended two open houses. This Saturday, I'll attend two more. The next week, I have yet another one to go to. GAH! WHEN WILL THE OPEN HOUSES END?! WHEN? Mmmmmmy goodness! You'd think I was popular or something. Ah well, I'll pack my sunscreen, grin and bear it.

Jonathan Jackson is a really hot, sweet, all-over awesome guy who used to play Lucky on General Hospital. Since fourth grade, I've planned on marrying him. But guess what? HE BETRAYED ME! That's right, he's getting married to his ex-GH-co-star who used to play Hannah! I can't believe it! Well, I guess I'll just have to marry my ol' stand-by crush, Tim. *Grins evilly*. Oh, darn.

I want to go to Cedar Point. Right now. C'mon, somebody go with me! I simply adore that place, what with my favorite ride, The Scrambler, my favorite rollercoaster, Wild Cat and a nifty water ride, Snake River Falls. I don't like the Power Tower, though. *Glares at Power Tower*. It should have rotten mozzerella cheese and horse dung thrown at it. You see, that ride lead me to believe I was going to die. Should I sue it?

Wellllll, I suppose I'll try and find something utterly exciting to do, like play Oregon Trail, or read Harry Potter fan fiction. Later, alligator! Huh huh huh!

I Can Only Imagine

Time: 10:46 P.M.
I'm Wearing: Floral pajamas.
I Last Ate: Bean w/ tortillas @ Don Pablos.
Holly's Song Pick of the Day: "Imagine- Sing the Wondrous Love of Jesus" by Amy Grant.
________________________________________________________

A well known fact about me is that I love Amy Grant. She's been my favorite musical artist for as long as I can remember. Her voice is so ethereal and soothingly cool that my mom and I always say that God put her on Earth to spread faith to those who hear her music. You'll never find a sweeter or more talented person in the world than the great Amy Grant.

She recently came out with a new CD (Legacy... Hymns and Faith), devoted to her love of hymns. Here are the lyrics to my favorite (or one of them, anyway) songs on the album.

"Imagine- Sing the Wondrous Love of Jesus"
By Amy Grant

I can only imagine what it will be like
Will I walk... by Your side?
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When You're right looking at me

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
I can only still... imagine

I can only imagine all creation bowed down
The whole universe saying Your name out loud
I can only imagine
All our broken lies ressurected
In the healing light

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
Or will all be still?
Will I stand in Your presence?
To my knees, will I fall?
I can only imagine

Surrounded by forgiveness, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
Or will all be still?
Will I stand in Your presence?
To my knees, will I fall?
Oh, I can only imagine
I can only i-hoo-hoo-hoo
I can only imagine
Just imagine...
I can only imagine
Imagine

Holly the Activist

Time: 8:38 P.M.
I'm wearing: My blue Old Navy T-shirt and jeans.
I last ate: Refried beans on tortillas at Don Pablos.
Song that's in my head: "Ain't This the Feeling?" by Bliss 66.
_________________________________________________________

After the spaghetti dinner at church a few nights ago, Mike handed me the newspaper and said, "Hey Holly, look! I *told* you Rosie O'Donnel was gay!" Oh. Okay. But all of a sudden, Mike is making a huge deal about gay people. He's like, "Oh, gay people are just wrong!" and I'm like, "No they're not" and he's like, "Yes... they are."

Anyway, a few nights later, we were all sitting around, watching Once & Again, and it turns out that Jessie is gay. Mike got all grossed out, and ran to the bathroom, making puking sounds. I was like, "Dude. It's just gay people. Get a grip." So Mike goes online and looks up some Bible passages that say being gay is wrong. Geez, I don't think it's wrong to be gay, I just happen to be straight, and I tend to really stick up for gay people, because I know a lot of them, and they're all really nice.

So everybody's like, "Holly, you don't have to be an activist for *everything*!" But I'm a really opinionated person, so I have a tendency to REALLY stick up for everything I believe in. My family (except for my mom) all think I'm nuts for being this way.

One day, when they're least expecting it, I'm going to stick picket signs up their butts.

The Lost Kissing of Atlantis

Time: 12:08 A.M.
I'm wearing: A blue sweater and jeans.
I last ate: Tortilla chips.
Song that's in my head: That new Enrique Iglesias one. "Escape" or something like that.
_________________________________________________________

My dad and I were on our own tonight because Zach went to see The Verve Pipe with Tracey, so I suggested that we rent a movie. We ended up with Disney's Atlantis, which I always wanted to see.

Michael J. Fox's character, Milo, was really adorable, just like M.J.F. himself. The plot was interesting, Milo's friends were all very cool, and the leading lady was cute as a button. There was no music (except for instrumental) and that *sort* of bothered me. But the movie would have actually been pretty darn good if it weren't for the fact that there was... NO KISSING SCENE!

Atlantis ended and I said to my dad, "See that? They ruined a perfectly good movie by not adding a kissing scene. There was not *one* single kiss in the whole freaking movie!" and Dad was all, "Oh, this is a kids' movie. Kids don't *like* kissing*." Whatever! All I know is that THIS kid *points to self* has ALWAYS loved kissing! I grew up on soaps, for God's sake! Arrrrgh... don't people understand, you need kissing to make a good movie?

Ah well. Maybe the next Disney movie'll have some kissing. Later!

Apology Entry

Time: 4:45 P.M.
I'm wearing: My red Planet Hollywood, Nashville shirt and jeans.
I last ate: Cheeseless pizza for breakfast.
Song that's in my head: "First Date" by Blink 182
_________________________________________________________

Uh-oh, looks like I wrote a stupid entry yesterday! Man, *that* should teach me never to write in my diary when I have a migraine. Geez, I was so mean! I was bashing people who don't believe in God? What was wrong with me?! I NEVER do that! I have friends who are Wiccans and Atheists! I don't know what got into me.

Anyway, I'm deeply ashamed of the entry I wrote yesterday, and I'm REALLY sorry to anyone I offended. Everyone who left me notes telling me how close-minded I was being, you were absolutely right. The weird thing is, though, I'm not usually like that at all! I usually stand up for all religions.

I do have to stand by what I said about Rosie, though. She, Conan O'Brien and David Letterman are my favorite talk show hosts. Ooh, and Space Ghost, of course!

Again, I'm so sorry I was being a moron yesterday! Feel free to punch me in the face if you know me. I deleted the entry, btw. It scared me.

Do cartoon characters count?

Well, the theme says I can have dinner with three people, living or dead. But are Daria and Johnny Bravo living, dead, or nonexistant in real life? Hmm...

Oh well. I'll just pick some cool living and dead people. How 'bout Julia Stiles, Jonathan Jackson and Albert Einstein.

Julia Stiles rules! In fact, my two favorite movies (besides the Daria movie, of course) are Ten Things I Hate About You and Save the Last Dance. I can't decide which movie I like better, the both completely rule. Julia is a vegetarian, an awesome actress and dancer, and like, the leader of all females. She's cool in every way possible. That hair just can't be beat.

I've watched General Hospital with my mom since I was a baby, and I was about nine years old when Jonathan Jackson joined the cast. He was Lucky, the hottest guy on the show... or anywhere, for that matter. I collected pictures of him to put in photo albums and to hang on my walls, I watched episodes of GH that contained him repeatedly, and I read every article I could find that was about him, or even his brother, Richard. Jonathan Jackson is a vegetarian, an awesome actor, a great singer and guitarist in his band Scarlet Road, and he's the only perfect male I've ever seen. Wish I could marry that guy... *Dang*, what a hottie!

Albert Einstein was so cool, and everyone knows it. He dropped out of high school, and was still the smartest guy like, ever. Albert Einstein was a vegetarian, too, and that was the coolest thing about him, as far as I'm concerned. He realized that killing animals was wrong. Of course, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out out (just look at me).

Alrighty then. So I'm planning on having a vegan dinner with Julia Stiles, Jonathan Jackson and Albert Einstein tomorrow night. If they don't show up, I'll probably just eat with Mom, Zach and Sarah. See ya!

I'm at school! Gaaah!

Whew! I finally got to a computer! My focus group decided
to go to the computer lab, which rules because I'm grounded
from the computer.

Anyway, I went to Nashville and chilled with Amy Grant! It
was *so* much fun! There were about 100 fans in this
restaurant where Amy Grant and Vince Gill were, and we all
yelled out songs we wanted them to play. In between songs,
people would get up on stage with Amy and Vince, and sing a
song, or say a poem. Some of those fans were really
creepy... they would just burst into tears as soon as they
got on stage. Amy was so adorable because she was five
months pregnant. During the autograph signing at the end,
Amy said, "I don't mean to be rude, but I'm getting sort of
nauseated due to my pregnancy." Everyone went, "Awwww...
so, anyway, SIGN MY AUTOGRAPH, SIGN THIS, SIGN THAT!" They
really didn't feel that bad for my girl, Amy, the jerks.
After we had breakfast with Amy and Vince, we went to an
Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Vince Gill concert. Every
time I go to an Amy concert, I have more and more respect
for her. 80% of the money we pay goes to a children's
hospital. Amy said, "I'm sure every parent knows, whether
a child is eight years old, or eighteen years old, they are
just as precious, and need just as much love." My mom
bought me this adorable little stuffed lamb, and that money
went straight to the children's hospital as well, so we
felt really good about going to the concert.

Changing the subject, on Friday, when I got to school, I
was in *such* an awesome mood. I kept hugging everyone,
and by the time lunch time rolled around, I felt really
brave. My friend, Heather and I walked into the art room,
and I just walked straight up to my crush, Sean, and said,
"Hi. I just wanted to tell you that I think you're really,
really hot. A girl could have fantasies about you. Okay,
thanks for your time." I have no idea why I did that.
Heather thinks I'll never, ever have a chance with him now
because of what my first words to him were. See, I really
like him because he's a vegan, and he's all into animal
rights and everything. I've never met a guy that had the
same beliefs as me, and he does! I really want that guy, I
tell you! *Sigh*. Well, I think I've really gotta go
because he's in the hall, and he's about to come in here, I
think. Smooch!

Tee hee! I'm headed for Nashville!

That's right! My mom's boyfriend's not going, so I'm goin'
in his place! We're trying to get me in to the party, and
we're pretty sure I'll be able to do it because Kim Keys,
Amy Grant's manager chick, is so nice. A PARTY WITH AMY
GRANT, MICHAEL W. SMITH & VINCE GILL! WOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Soooooooo thrilled, I tell you,
thrilllleeeeeeeeeeed! HURRAY! I'm going to take millions
and millions of pictures! And then I'm going to scan them
and put them on my web site so that everyone can be
jealous! YAY, YAY! And at the concert, we get floor
seats! When we're at the Amy party, she's going to play
her guitar, just for this group of people! I'm soooooooooo
thrilled!

The only problem is, I've missed about 20 days of school
already, and I'll miss 3 more if I go to this. My dad is
*very* touchy about me missing school. Every time I don't
go, I think his head is going to blow up. And if I'm not
sick, he'll be even madder. Crap. Crap, crap, crap, crap,
crap, crap.

And YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY!

Giddy as a school janitor! Or, i mean, girl!

You know, I woke up a while ago feeling really inspired and thrilled half to death about the idea I had for my story!

Now I'm just too grossed out to write. Sarah and Zach are making out and it sounds icky. I'm no longer jealous of them, they're just... gross to listen to! My *pets* even seem disgusted.

Welp... there's only one thing to do at a time like this... compare deserts to famous guys! WOO HOO!

Jamal Woods from Port Charles: Tiramisu, that awesome frozen cappuccino cake stuff from the Olive Garden.

Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees: Baked apple pie with melted caramel and butterscotch from Chili's.

Brian Littrel from the Backstreet Boys: My grandma's homemade gingerbread men! Hee hee... what a cutie.

J.C. Chasez from 'N Sync: Rich, sweet, yummy chocolate cake from Bill Knapps.

Eminem... Marshall Mathers: All that desert I ate that I am now throwing up.

Yep... that about does it.

Holly's Double

The theme of the week pretty much says, "What costume would best represent your personality?" Why, I'd have to say a Rosie O'Donnel costume. Everyone hates her, but I can't figure out why! But check it out... we both sing out of nowhere all the time, we both know the words to every single song, we both have been addicted to ABC soaps, and quote our favorite shows and movies all the time. It's fun to be like Rosie O'Donnel.

I didn't go as Rosie O'Donnel for Halloween, though. I was going to be Andrea from Daria, but I couldn't find the right wig, so I was just a gothic chick. My friends dragged me trick-or-treating for our last year even though we're too old, and it was retarded 'cause I got tired.

Another one I could do is Evil Holly. All I'd have to do is put a goatee on my chin and be like, "Hi, I'm Evil Holly."

Okay, see ya.

--Rosie O'Donnel... or... uh... Holly, I mean. ():-)

"This grouw, it's frenche!"--The Sims
