Holly Rants

What in blue blazes is a fresh-pickled toad?

"Deeply" is a brilliantly sad, underappreciated movie starring Kirsten Dunst.

My dog sleeps with a pink mouse. In the daytime, she attempts to kill it.

Cledus T. Judd's cell-mate thinks he's sexy. I beg to differ.

Ken West is an old man who goes to my church. One day, when church was just ending, Ken stood up from his pew, and took maybe 3 steps before his pants fell down to his ankles.

Why do people live in Bay City, Michigan? Don't they know they can move?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is one of the many things that are wrong with me. Thanks to OCD, I feel the need to do everything from right to left, pity inanimate objects, and make sure I do everything (walk, talk, chew, breathe) an even amount of times. I also have a constant prayer running through my mind, exhale when I think about something gross, and inhale when I think about something pleasant. Fun, huh?

Prom dresses are preeeeeetty.

I need money. Lots of it. But I don't want to get a job. What to do...?

Harry Potter should not crush upon Cho Chang. He should set his sights, instead, on his gal pal, Hermione Granger.

And they say that a hero can save us. I think I'll just stand here and wait.

AAAAAAAAH! THEY'RE CANCELING DARIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right! Glenn Eichler has decided to cancel Daria. What a dork. Who says we can't watch her go to college? I want to see it! Don't you? You're damn right you do!

Some people have started a petition against it, but dude... what good is that going to do? Does Glenn ever do anything the fans want him to? Did he hook Daria and Trent up? Heck no, he created the most sickening character he could and hooked Daria up with *him*! Before they cancel the show, can't they at least kill Tom off or have him move away, and for the love of Jonathan Jackson, hook Daria up with Trent? Geez!

Okay... Holly's a bit angry... so she's going to find someoen who will smack her... then... she'll be back...

@$#%&*#$%^#@!

My Story of Daria

Since I explained my vegan story, I thought I'd explain my obsession with Daria, so that my entire name makes sense. So, here's an explanation for the "Daria Freak" part of my OD name.

My obsession with Daria is actually kind of ironic. Daria stands for cynicism, sarcasm, anti-sappiness. My previous TV show obsessions, however, were all *about* sappiness, preppiness, and allllll that wonderful stuff that Daria hates. I was into soap operas, Clueless, Sabrina the Teenage Witch... Daria wasn't exactly the type of show anyone would have that I'd be into.

The first episode I ever saw of Daria was "Too Cute." I just loved Quinn, I thought she was so cool! But then I saw what a snob she was, and realized that the show was cool because of Daria's outlook on life. She had some snappy comeback for every stupid comment that was made, and I thought it was hilarious. However, that didn't get me hooked on the show. I just sort of thought it was pretty good at that point.

"Road Worrier" was the second episode I saw. Daria had such an adorable crush on Trent... she got all nervous around him, and Daria *never* got nervous. She was cool, collected, and could handle anything with sarcasm. Not Trent. I loved it! There was a possibility of a hook-up here... I *had* to keep watching.

I watched Daria for four years. She never hooked up with Trent. But I watched and taped every episode, hoping that she would. Daria went out with nerdy Ted, had some sort of weird chemistry with that cousin of Upchuck, and had... *something* going on with Tom, Jane's boyfriend. I still clung to that last thread of hope. Daria and Trent *HAD* to happen. They just had to! My life would be over if they didn't! I figured I would turn into some sort of weird hermit, or have a nervous breakdown, or something.

Well, Daria hooked up with Tom, and there was this huge thing where Jane couldn't stand the sight of Daria because she stole her boyfriend. Thorough all of that crap, never once did anyone mention that Daria was still supposed to have a crush on Trent. I mean, hello?! I've been waiting! And it never happened. Oh, I was pissed. I cried once or twice. Then nothing. I was just sort of over it. It was really weird to not really care all that much because I'd expected my entire life to end.

Well, now I can at least I can pay attention to the rest of the characters on the show instead of constantly thinking, "Are Daria and Trent gonna hook up? Are Daria and Trent gonna hook up?" You know, it's weird. There were other interesting characters on the show the whole time. Whoa. Well, okay. I think I've explained my obsession to the point where you're more confused. My job here is done. Thank you and goodnight.

PS: Now I think Jodie and Mack are my favorite couple on the show. Aren't they sweet? Awwwww....

Obsessed With The Grinch

Yes, that's right. I seem to be in a Grinch rut. I must see the movie again, it was so splendorous! I'm wondering if I can go tomorrow... and then again the next day! Say, this seems similar to my Titanic rut. And my Ten Things I Hate About You rut, and my Little Mermaid rut. I sure have had a lot of movie ruts in my life.

I wonder where I might go about purchasing some Grinch merchandise... Perhaps I'll rip down all the boy band posters from my walls and replace them with Jim Carrey posters. You know what this means, don't you? I'm going to have to go to Spencer's and get one of those giant Grinch dolls, along with a giant Max. AAAAH, but I've got to buy Christmas presents! BLAST these bloody obsessions!

Sports Suck

God, do I hate football season... and basketball season, and golf season, and every other freaking sport season! ARGH! THERE'S *ALWAYS* SOME SPORT ON TV FOR MY DAD TO BE WATCHING! (Huffs angrily, then calms down). So, here I am on the internet, looking for a means of escape. So, I thought I'd list all of the things I hate, seeing as I'm in such a spiteful mood today... I'm also in a Spriteful mood... BRB, I've gotta get some...

Alright! Sprite *RULES*! Anyhoo... Here are all the things I hate:

1. Sports. ARGH!!!!!!!!!! They give me headaches.
2. Headaches. They're caused by sports.
3. People who beat animals. What a bunch of retards.
4. Eminem. It's hard to believe people actually buy his CDs.
5. Hugh Heffner. The reason there are so many divorces today.
6. Christina Aguilera. You know, there's such a thing as *too* much self-confidence.
7. Undressed. I don't think I've ever watched a show with worse actors, or storylines.
8. School. I've gotta go there on Tuesday... ugh.
9. People who don't like Daria.
10. Pop-up ads.
11. Marge Simpson. What? She sneaks meat juice into Lisa's food!
12. Tom Sloane (Daria's boyfriend). The man must die...
13. Idle Hands. The worse movie ever made.
14. Obsessive-compulsive disorder. It gets on your nerves. Wait... nerves. Nerves. Nerves. Okay.
15. McDonald's. If they'd really love to see me smile, they'd shut their stupid restaurant down.
16. Crackheads. Do I attract those weirdos, or what? They follow me around saying stuff that doesn't make any sense.
17. Running into people who think you're someone else.
18. That chick who went out with my crush into kindergarten, did better than me in first grade, pushed me off my bike in 3rd grade, pushed me off the bleachers in 7th grade, and still hates me for absolutely no reason now.
19. Frizzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
20. People who think I want a bunch of porn mail.

Okay, that should just about do it. The world would be better without these things. Yep...

I Have a Nifty Disorder

I started going to a psychiatrist today who confirmed that I have OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). I already knew that, but it's nice to have it confirmed that I'm a weirdo!

Wanna hear about my obsessions?! Too bad, you're going to! My main obsession is Daria, but that doesn't count, the therapist says, 'cause there's no harm in watching a TV show over and over until I wear out the tapes. However, I've had this ritualistic praying since I was a little kid, and it is pretty darn annoying. My parents taught me the "now I lay me down to sleep" prayer, but when I was in third grade, my mom informed me that I was old enough to make up my own prayer. So, I memorized a whole new one that I made up myself. Crap. Why did I ever do that?! My other obsessions include cracking all my knuckles repeatedly, keeping everything in a certain order, and seeing horrible stuff in my mind that I know won't even happen, but it still freaks me out! Fun, huh?
