Vegas Pictures!

Welllll, I don't know how to put pics in an entry. But if anyone would like to see the pictures we took during this year's Vegas Vacation, they can go to zachzintel.com. There, they will find a link (off to the left) under the category "Galleries". The link they might want to click on is "NEW Vegas 2002 Pics".

Yuup. You should all look at the pictures of me in the Harry Potter room in FAO Shwartz @ Caeser's Forum. I wish I could have bought the whole room, and put it in my house. :-( Oh well. I can still make my room look like a Gryffindor dorm! *Grins excitedly* I'm such a nerd.

I went to Great Lakes Crossing this morning with my mom, my step-dad and my brother. Zach drove us there, so we had to listen to his crappy music for the rather long drive. At Great Lakes, we ate @ Johnny Rockets. My mom and I ordered Streamliners, which are veggie burgers, but mine made me sick, so I only ate half. Since I was still hungry, I got a Cinnabon in the food court, and it was there that we spotted this woman crying hysterically. Mom said, "I'll bet she lost a kid!"

I don't have any kids, but I just know I'd be scared out of my mind if I lost one of my kids in a mall. So, I walked up to the lady and asked her if she'd lost a kid. She was crying really hard when she told me, "Yes, a little boy who's almost as tall as me (she was really short) and a two-year-old boy that's not even mine!" I wanted to do anything I could to help the poor girl, so I hurried through one side of the mall while the girl who'd lost the kids and a security guard checked the other side. I didn't find the kids anywhere, but I don't know if she did either because on the way out, I asked the person at the information desk, and they didn't know anything about the missing kids.

I'm still really worried. I mean, what if someone kidnapped those kids? The girl had told me that the kids were right there in the play area one minute, and gone the next! Oooh, I just feel sick to my stomach about it. I'm going to watch the news at 6:00 and see if they say anything about the missing kids.

Well, while I was at Great Lakes, I decided to check the book store for that Harry Potter parody book, and I found it, so I bought it! It's called Barry Trotter and the Unauthorized Parody by Michael Gerber. It's so funny, I love it! I also stopped at Afterthoughts and bought 3 pairs of really cute earrings.

Ugh, but I'm so worried about those kids! *Cries*

First concert: Amy Grant's House of Love tour in 1994. That was probably the happiest day of my life, because Amy asked all the kids to come up on stage and dance with her. My mom used to make me these puff-up paint shirts, and on that night, I was wearing one that had Amy Grant on it. Amy told me my shirt was "really awesome" and hugged me! I was on the big screen and everything, it was so cool! But then I couldn't find my way back to my seat... heh.

Cruisin' The Strip

*Sigh*. I've only been home for 3 days and I already miss Vegas. I miss the white tigers at the Mirage who always seemed to be pooping when I saw them. I miss the moving sidewalks that did my walking for me. I miss the spiffy novelty hats Vegas sells in every other gift shop. But most of all, I miss cruisin' The Strip (or what you civilized folk refer to as Las Vegas Boulevard). By the way, during this year's Vegas vacation, I discovered that "Walla Walla" by The Offspring is the best "Strip cruisin'" song. If you roll the windows of your rental car down and blare it, the people walking outside will glare at you. *Laughs evilly*

But as much as I miss Vegas, I still am mucho glad to be back in Flint. It's good to have you back, computer, and all my pals who live in the computer. *Hugs monitor*

One thing I don't much like about being home is the fact that the mail informed me of my G.E.D. results. I passed everything, and with flying colors, no less... except for the math. OOOOOOH, I HATE MATH! *Stomps it to death* So now I've got to go back and re-take the math portion of the G.E.D. test on Sept. 20th. But at least I get to start college before that.

I have no idea what my major is going to be! I know for a fact that I either want to be a writer or an actress... but Mott doesn't offer like, any courses that have anything to do with either of those careers! And I have to go to Mott because it's the only community college around here. *Pouts* So I guess I'm going to have to make an appointment with a councilor. *Shrugs* Ah well.

Now, I must go and fulfill my duty as Ruler of the Sims. I shall be in touch. *Salutes*

Goodbye to Vegas & Hello to Michigan Part2

8-13-02
The night of the 12th, I got to feeling really inspired and wrote a lot of my story "Harry Potter--The Bachelor", but I also got to feeling really sick and had horrible cramps. The next morning, I was still super-sick. We went to New York, New York where they used to have this awesome place called the Motown Cafe... but now it's gone all of a sudden! They replaced the Motown Cafe with stupid ESPN Zone! I was really sick, and couldn't even eat. I looked all over New York, New York for some Newsies, but there weren't any. *Pouts*
Later on, we went on this I-MAX 3D Motion Ride at the Excalibur, and that turned out to suck really, really bad. Then we got all dressed up and returned to New York, New York to see this stand-up comedian, Rita Rudner. I didn't think she was all that funny, and I guess I was kind of a jerk to Dad and Zach about it, so they got mad at me, and I was all sick and... that day just wasn't very good.

8-14-02
They tore up most of the good stuff in the Fashion Show Mall! Suddenly, my favorite restaurant, Dive, was no longer there, and neither was Sam Goody, or the good makeup place, or the giant Bath & Body Works! *Cries*
We ate at the Harrah's Buffet for a late lunch, and spent the evening having fun watching the Pirate show at Treasure Island and shopping at the Vinician's mall place.
Then we went to my very favorite place, the Flamingo Hilton, where I plan to one day get married. We checked out the coolest part of the casino, the garden/pool area. There are all these pools that are connected by water-slides, beautiful gardens, live flamingos, and these tiny little penguins. My dad went inside to gamble, but Zach and I stayed outside. The pool was closed at night-time and it wasn't even our hotel, so I thought it'd be fun to try and get into the pool with my clothes on, without getting them wet. Zach took pictures, and I took a pic of him in the lifeguard's chair, but then the security guard caught us. *Hangs head* The Flamingo Hilton's pool area is really big, so we weren't all that sure how to get back into the casino. We just started walking around... and walking around... and soon we had no idea where we were. We saw this 27,000,000 step staircase, and decided to go up it... but that wasn't smart. We ended up on the roof of the freaking casino! It took us forever to find the casino, and we were soooooooooo tired when we did! That day wasn't very good.

Today was spent flying. *Waves* Hello, I'm home now! So... yup! Time to catch up on some diaries! I'll try and post some pictures from the trip on here later. See ya!

*Waves Goodbye to Vegas & Hello to Michigan*

I'm baaaaaa-aaaaack! Oh, how I've missed you FOD people! *Hugs you all* Eeek, I had so much fun! In an attempt to keep up with my diary, I made a travel log while I was in Vegas, and I'll now type it here:

Date: 8-10-02
My feet hurt. My neck hurts. It's ridiculously hot. But the scenery is awesome and I'm having a blast. All this can only mean one thing-- I'm in Las Vegas! I got 2 hours of sleep last night, and then it was off to Bishop Airport. Apparently, I was even more nervous about flying than I usually am because when I stepped onto that plane, my stomach dropped faster than it did on the Power Tower at Cedar Point! I even asked my brother to grab me an extra barf bag. But, thank God, I never puked during the whole 11 minute flight! *Does victory dance*
Then we landed at the Detroit Metro Airport, and I tried to buy some Pepto Bismol at a store that seemingly had everything... but they didn't have that. So I got a bag of Chex Mix and I felt better. Then we boarded the plane and haf a four-hour flight during which I listened to the Newsies soundtrack, Avril Lavigne and sad country songs. I also pulled a muscle between my neck and shoulder. Ow.
After we'd landed, we picked up our rent-a-car, then headed over to the Excalibur for breakfast. When we were done eating, we looked for Harry Potter-type stuff for me to get my picture taken with, then went to the Luxor and played stuff like Skee-Ball, air hockey and Crazy Taxi. There, Zach stood on top of a flight of stairs and dropped a quarter onto my head to get my attention. *Glares* Ow.
Next, we came to the Rivera to check in. Zach and I pretended not to know Dad while he did his crazy-looking back excersises, then went to the California Pizza Kitchen @ the Mirage for dinner. There, we played Hangman and ate pizza & soup. Then we drove the Strip, with Zach up front with his freakin' music.

Date: 8-11-02

Today we woke up @ 9:00 and headed over to Pharo's Pheast (the Luxor Buffet). Those Ancient Egyptian didn't know how to spell. It was good eatin'. After hanging out at the Mirage for a while, we took the moving sidewalk to Caeser's Forum Shops. Now, I've said it before and I'll say it again-- I LOVE CAESER'S FORUM! We went to FAO Shwartz (the giant toy store) and had a lot of fun talking to the crazy employees. Just as we were about to leave, I noticed a dimly lit room and decided to go in.
Well, was I ever glad I did... BECAUSE IT WAS THE HARRY POTTER ROOM! There was a TV playing the Harry Potter movie while the soundsystem played the Harry Potter soundtrack. The books were lined up against every wall. There were ceramic figurines of the characters acting out Sorcerer's Stone scenes, huge stuffed Hagrids, Fred and George action figures... it was the coolest thing I've ever seen! One of the best things there was the talking/moving Fat Lady portrait. She was like, "Password?", "You're not in Gryffindor!" and "What was the point in waking me up?" I would have bought her, but I only had $40 & I wanted to buy my mom a Mirage shirt. After a lot of pondering, I decided on a doll of Hermione who comes with Crookshanks and a lot of other cool stuff. So I got out my $23 and got in line to pay for it when I heard the cashier screech, "Oh my God! You're Marc Anthony!" I looked up and, sure enough, there was Marc Anthony with who, I assumed, were his wife & little girl. I accidentally stepped on his foot, but it was cool to meet him!
Next we went to dinner at the Rio Buffet. That night, Dad went to his conference, so Zach and I hung out in the room and rented Spider-man.

Date: 8-12-02
Um... I kind of got behind in my travel log. But I think this day went kinda like this:
Dad had an early conference, so Zach and I went to the Rivera food court and ate French toast sticks from Burger King. Then we came back to the room and watched this show... In it, there were these cats, bats and a singing cricket. Then this real kid comes on the screen and goes, "Me and my step-dad went to this basketball court and I couldn't get the ball through the hoop. So I tried a soccer ball, and that didn't work either. So my step-dad said 'Let's go,' but I said, 'One more try!' and I got it through the hoop! I was so happy and I started going, 'BEANS AND RICE! RICE AND BEANS! BEANS AND RICE!'" Zach and I looked at each other like "What?" and then started cracking up. That was cool.
Then we drove out to this chocolate factory called Ethel M.'s that we go to every year. You get free chocolate, and if you put a fake mousdache on, you can go back in and get more free chocolate. *Nods* Then we went to the Mirage Buffet and I got my mom's shirt for her.
By night-time, we thought it'd be cool to see the water show @ the Bellagio, so we stood & gawked at the awesomeness of the water rising and falling to "Proud to be An American". Then we walked around town, and Zach kept picking up all this lesbian porn from weirdos on the street, and he was talking like a jerk to me, so I got really mad and, without thinking, ran off. That probably wasn't a good idea because it took Dad and Zach quite a while to find me. But what a perv.

Continued in next entry...
