I did math with my father all night so I'll pass that section on my G.E.D. test on Friday. And it stressed me out so bad that I now have a migrain. I ache all over and feel so stressed out! I wish math weren't required in everyday life because, try as I might, I don't seem able to understand it!

Stolen From: Picked Last For Gym

1. Who are your closest friends? See "B" in the above survey.

2. What is the scariest thing you've ever experienced with a friend? Okay, I have two answers for this.

THE FIRST: Freshman year, our school had many bomb threats brought on by the whole Columbine thing. The first one was SCARY AS HECK! The school was evacuated, and we were all to go to the soccer field. Once we were there, it was announced that we were going home by bus. The trouble was, I didn't ride the bus, so I didn't know my bus number! Sarah and I looked all over for my brother, but we couldn't find him anywhere! We were so freaked out! We did eventually find him, but... the horror... THE HORROR!

THE SECOND: Sarah and I went on the Power Tower at Cedar Point. TWICE. Once you get up to the top of that thing, you see how far down the ground is, and you're like, "OKAY, I WANNA GET OFF THE RIDE NOW!" but you CAN'T get off the ride! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

3. What's the best thing you ever experienced with a friend? The last day of driver's training when Sarah and I got our permits!

4. What's the most exciting thing you have ever experienced with a friend? One night Mom, Sarah, Zach and I were over at Mom's, and a guy from online called, asking my mom to go out with him right then. It was 11:30 P.M., so I put my foot down. But she really wanted to go. So Mom agreed that Sarah, Zach and I could follow Mom to the restaurant, get a seat in the back, and spy on Mom and Online Dude to make sure she was okay. It was a lot of fun!

5. What's the bravest thing you have ever done with a friend? Heather and I were feeling very brave one day at school, so during lunchtime, we decided to walk around and talk to everyone we recognized. To each person, we confessed to one thing we thought about them. Don't worry, they were all good things.

6. What is the most shameful thing you have ever experienced with a friend? Jennifer and I got caught cheating on a test. That wasn't fun.

7. Do you connect better with your guy friends or your girl friends? Girl friends.

Well, poop. I was too sick to go to the open houses I'd planned to attend on Saturday. I stayed home and flipped between The Mummy and The Matchmaker instead. Reeeeal exciting.

I was still really sick when I woke up on Sunday morning, so I couldn't go to church. I didn't think I'd be able to go to the Father's Day bash at Grandma Z.'s house either, but I got a little better, and I made it. It would have been bad to not spend Father's Day with my dad, plus I love hanging out with my extended family. Zach and I got my dad a Red Wings polo-type shirt, which... he actually bought, and we paid him back for (how wrong was that of us?).

It was really hot at my grandparents' house, and they wouldn't turn on the air for some reason, so we all went outside to sit on the front porch and talk. My poor cousin, Lindsay cried because her boyfriend cheated on her with her friend, and she still has to see him everyday 'cause he lives in the apartment above her's. But all in all, I think we all had a good time (even Lindsay). We broke out old home videos of us kids when we were little, which gave us all a laugh.

I went to the neurologist today to see what's up with these stupid leg spasms I've been having for the past 5 years or so. He made me strip down to my bra and undies, then wait there for 2 hours in a very cold room. I think the plan was to either bore me to death, or freeze me to death. Something that involved death, anyway. He didn't even tell me much, except that I have to come back tomorrow morning after NOT EATING FOR 12 FREAKING HOURS and get some blood drawn. GAH! HOW WILL I EVER SURVIVE? *Cries*. Then I've gotta get a cat scan, an E.E.G. and some other ridiculous-sounding test I don't wish to take.

Well, I've gotta go, work on math with my dad since I'm taking my G.E.D. test Friday. *Hyperventilates*.

Good Gravy!

"Oh, thank you, it's just brown and water."--The Simpsons.

Where has this week gone? Last Saturday, I attended two open houses. This Saturday, I'll attend two more. The next week, I have yet another one to go to. GAH! WHEN WILL THE OPEN HOUSES END?! WHEN? Mmmmmmy goodness! You'd think I was popular or something. Ah well, I'll pack my sunscreen, grin and bear it.

Jonathan Jackson is a really hot, sweet, all-over awesome guy who used to play Lucky on General Hospital. Since fourth grade, I've planned on marrying him. But guess what? HE BETRAYED ME! That's right, he's getting married to his ex-GH-co-star who used to play Hannah! I can't believe it! Well, I guess I'll just have to marry my ol' stand-by crush, Tim. *Grins evilly*. Oh, darn.

I want to go to Cedar Point. Right now. C'mon, somebody go with me! I simply adore that place, what with my favorite ride, The Scrambler, my favorite rollercoaster, Wild Cat and a nifty water ride, Snake River Falls. I don't like the Power Tower, though. *Glares at Power Tower*. It should have rotten mozzerella cheese and horse dung thrown at it. You see, that ride lead me to believe I was going to die. Should I sue it?

Wellllll, I suppose I'll try and find something utterly exciting to do, like play Oregon Trail, or read Harry Potter fan fiction. Later, alligator! Huh huh huh!

I Can Only Imagine

Time: 10:46 P.M.
I'm Wearing: Floral pajamas.
I Last Ate: Bean w/ tortillas @ Don Pablos.
Holly's Song Pick of the Day: "Imagine- Sing the Wondrous Love of Jesus" by Amy Grant.
________________________________________________________

A well known fact about me is that I love Amy Grant. She's been my favorite musical artist for as long as I can remember. Her voice is so ethereal and soothingly cool that my mom and I always say that God put her on Earth to spread faith to those who hear her music. You'll never find a sweeter or more talented person in the world than the great Amy Grant.

She recently came out with a new CD (Legacy... Hymns and Faith), devoted to her love of hymns. Here are the lyrics to my favorite (or one of them, anyway) songs on the album.

"Imagine- Sing the Wondrous Love of Jesus"
By Amy Grant

I can only imagine what it will be like
Will I walk... by Your side?
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When You're right looking at me

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
I can only still... imagine

I can only imagine all creation bowed down
The whole universe saying Your name out loud
I can only imagine
All our broken lies ressurected
In the healing light

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
Or will all be still?
Will I stand in Your presence?
To my knees, will I fall?
I can only imagine

Surrounded by forgiveness, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus?
Or will all be still?
Will I stand in Your presence?
To my knees, will I fall?
Oh, I can only imagine
I can only i-hoo-hoo-hoo
I can only imagine
Just imagine...
I can only imagine
Imagine

Oy Gavault! Another HP Survey!

This Harry Potter Survey Was Stolen From: Laebeth

1. Which is your favorite book? Prisoner of Azkaban.

2. Who is your favorite - Harry, Ron, or Hermione? Hermione! She's the chick.

3. Do you say Hermione the correct way (her-MY-own-nee), or some other way? Oh, I regularly speak like Viktor Krum, and call her "Hermy-own." Nah, I pronounce correctly.

4. Which is your favorite Weasley family member? Arthur, Molly, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, or Ginny? Fred and George, all the way! "We're not stupid. We know our names are Gred and Foerge." Heheh.

5. The Movie:
-Did you like the first movie? Yeah, but I was upset that they didn't put my favorite scenes in it.
-How many times did you see it in the theater? Four times, I believe.
-Do you now own it? Indeed!
-Are you looking forward to the second movie? Are you kidding? I can't sit still!

6. Why do mostly all the males in the movie have hideous hairdos? Because the hair and makeup people were morons.

7. Why is it called the Sorceror's Stone in the American versions? I don't know, that sort of bothers me.

8. Who is your favorite professor? (or other member of Hogwarts faculty) Flitwick! Hurray for charms! Woo hoo!

9. What's your favorite Quidditch team? Why, the Chudley Cannons, of course!
-What position would you like to play? Chaser.

10. What Harry Potter books do you own? Including hardcover, paperback, the two textbooks written by J.K. Rowling, and books about Harry Potter: Welllll, I have all four books in hard-back, and two in paper-back. I also have a book called "The Sorcerer's Companion" that tells all the history that's involved in Harry Potter. I love it!

11. What's your favorite House and why? Gryffindor! Because... well, that's my House. But I actually always wanted to be in Hufflepuff. I just don't work hard enough! *Cries*.

12. What's your favorite flavor of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans? Cherry.

13. What's your favorite Harry Potter website? Fiction Ally, I believe. Here's the address: http://www.fictionalley.org/

14. Do you belong to any Harry Potter role-playing sites? Yup! HP Diary Central. I'm *Lavender Brown*. Loads of fun, I tell you!

15. If you could be anyone/anything in the wizarding world, what would you want to be? An animagus. Wouldn't that just be rockin'? I'd hang out with my dog and cats, and they'd be like, "Oh, hey, Holly. Something's different about you, isn't it?"

16. Who is your favorite beast from the books? Heh, does Crookshanks count as a beast? I like cats, and he's a mighty cool one. Besides him, I s'pose I might say... Buckbeak.

17. What is your favorite scene from the books? Okay, I'm going to sound like a nerd, but I really like the scene where Harry and Hermione were trying to get through Snape's potions obstacle, in book 1. You know, when she throws her arms around him and tells him he's a great wizard. Oh, and then he gets all embarrassed and he's like, "I'm not as good as you." It's sooo cute! That's when I decided I wanted them to hook up.
-From the movie? Um... I'm gonna go with the same scene, even though they majorly screwed it up.

18. Have the books made you laugh out loud or cry? Yup, both! I was sitting in the doctor's office waiting room when I first read POA, and I cracked up really loud when Ron said, "Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender?" And I cried like I was watching the end of Titanic when Cedric's ghost (or mememory, or... whatever) asked Harry to take his body back to his parents at the end of GOF.

19. When did you start reading the books and why? I started reading the books this past year, with my English class at school. I got hooked on them, got all the books, and promptly became obsessed with them.

Extra, Extra! Holly Does Newsies Soivey!

Heeeeey, everybody! I've finally stolen the lovely Newsies survey that Mondie made up! So, here goes...

Stolen From: Quidditch Chaser

1. Who is your favorite newsie, and why? Jack! What a hottie! Need I say more? Actually, yeah, I do need to say more. He's such the man, how he saved his friends (and goil, heheh) from those creeps, knowing what the concequences were.

2. Who are your next 5 faves (no explanation necessary):
#2: Spot
#3: David
#4: Crutchy
#5: Les
#6: Racetrack

3. What’s your favorite song that the newsies sing? Does "Santa Fe" count? I mean, I know it's just Jack, but... well, I've got a thing for Jack. And that song made me cry in journalism class!

4. Second favorite song? "The World Will Know." Rockin'. Simply rockin', I tells ya!

5. What’s your favorite quote in the ENTIRE movie? "I don't want nobody carryin' me, ya hear?"--Crutchy. What a brave little dude. Don't'cha just want to give him a big hug, and perhaps an extra crutch?

6. What’s your favorite quote by your favorite newsie? "You shouldn't call people lously little shrimps, Oscar, unless you're refering to the family resemblance in your brudda here."--Jack. Heheh... Awesome.

7. How many times have you watched Newsies? Probably about five times.

8. Can you name the characteristics of most of the characters? Um... sure I can! I just... don't... feel like it... right now. *Backs away slowly*.

9. What would your newsie name be? Probably "O.C.D." or something along the lines of "obsessive".

10. What’s your favorite dance number in the movie? Oh, geez... I think I agree with Mondie, "Carryin' the Banner." But they're all really good!

11. What character annoys you the most? That freaking Weasle guy! Gargh! There were various times when I felt like scratching his eyes out.

12. What’s your favorite blooper/observation from the movie? Oh, man... we had to write down all kind of bloopers when we took notes on the movie in 9th grade journalism, but I don't remember any of them!

13. Do you have a newsies site? If so, what is the URL? No, but they'll go on my site! It's still being built.

14. If you were a newsie, what part of the city would you be from? Heh, I don't know... Wherever's least dangerous.

15. Would you have joined in the strike? Absolutely! I'm all about standing up for what I believe in, and I totally agreed with the newsies, so yeah! Definitely!

16. All the newsies are in a building that catches on fire. Who would you save? Les, the little cutie. But then I'd scream, "Jack's up there! He's already hot enough without having to burn in a fire!"

17. Have you ever sang Newsies songs in public? Nope, I don't believe I have. Don't worry, I will...

18. Are all your friends hooked on Newsies, too? No. Sarah liked it okay, but she didn't get hooked like I did. And Zach hated it for some reason. *Milhouse voice* My mom likes it though!

19. Which newsie is most like you? Jack. All my life, my parents taught me to be a leader, and stand up for what I believe in, and I like to get loud and angry about it!

20. Tell the truth: have you ever tried to do the dance moves, no matter how dorky you looked? Nope. But now that you mention it, I think I'll try that out!

21. If you had to wear a Newsie outfit for a day, whose outfit would you steal? Heh... uh, does Sarah count?

22. What’s your favorite line from a song? "Friends of the friendless, seize the day. Raise up the torch and light the way. Proud and defiant, we'll slay the giant. Let us seize the day!"--"Seize the Day"... obviously, heh.

23. Is Sarah a skank or a sweetheart? A sweetheart. I really liked her.

24. What’s Jack’s best attribute? Oh man, do I have to pick a best? I like everything about the guy! But I'll have to say... his protectiveness over the people he loves. What a man!

25. C’mon now, don’t you just adore Mush? Yeah, he was pretty hot.

26. Every time you hear someone mention “Brooklyn,” do your thoughts automatically turn to Spot Conlon? Actually, my thoughts turn to Lois, who used to be on General Hospital. But that would be my second choice!

27. Which newsie has the coolest accessories? Crutchy! For, he had a crutch! I had two of those, but I'm might glad to be rid of them.

28. Do you fast forward through “Santa Fe” or let Jack wail his heart out? That's the best part of the movie (except for the awesome kiss at the end, of course)! I let him wail his heart out and stare at the screen without blinking.

29. Do you fast forward through the Pulitzer parts? Absolutely!

30. And, last, can you officially proclaim yourself Newsie-Obsessed? Yes, indeed! I know I haven't seen it as many times as I have a certain episode of Daria--"Pierce Me"--or the Harry Potter movie, but I promise I will when I buy it!

Open Houses, Sunburns and Self-Doubt

Time: 7:16 P.M.
I'm Wearing: Mauve Amy Grant shirt and jeans.
I Last Ate: Side dishes at Bob Evans.
Holly's Song Pick of the Day: "Creepin' Up on You" by Darren Hayes.
________________________________________________________

Saturday, I went to Carrie's open house with Mom, Mike, Grandma and Grandpa. It was over at Carrie's mom's house, in the backyard.

My mom made Carrie a doll cake for the open house! For those who don't know, a doll cake is one of my mom's specialties: It's a Barbie doll surrounded by a skirt-shaped cake, and she paints a dress on the doll (and cake) with frosting. She bought a Barbie of Beyonce from Destiny's Child because Carrie's got a dark tan, and Beyonce's half-white. The doll looked just like Carrie, and Mom painted Carrie's hot pink, princessy prom dress on her. She even put edible glitter on the dress! Carrie wouldn't let anyone cut that cake, though; she wanted to freeze it and save it (don't worry, there were three other cakes that we did eat).

Mom wore a sun dress to Carrie's open house, but I chose to keep my regular outfit of a T-shirt and shorts. I asked my grandma and grandpa if they thought I looked okay, and they said yes. But Mike said, "No! What if there's some nice boy at this open house, and you're there, looking like a slob?" I was like, "What?! A slob?" and he said, "Yeah. You're wearing a T-shirt, so you look like a slob." Geez! And it's so not his problem if guys like me or they don't.

Carrie's open house was pretty fun. Most of the high-school-aged (and younger) kids played volleyball, and it was entertaining to watch. Carrie ended up getting $2,000! Hooooollly macoroni, eh? She's quite the popular one. My mom also made a vegetarian pasta salad for she and I, but Carrie's boyfriend, Garret, ended up eating most of it! Heheheh.

After hanging out at Carrie's open house for like, three hours, we went to Lauren's (my distant cousin) open house. She lives in this huge mansion in Clio because her dad's a doctor. They had plenty of vegetarian food, so Mom and I ate pretty darn good. We were all having a nice time, but we noticed Mike was looking kind of strange. We figured he wasn't feeling good, but that wasn't it. Grandma and I talked to my great-aunt Patricia, and she isn't doing to well... she's kind of losing her mind; she can't remember things she did last week. Owwwww, I got a bad sunburn on my face from being outside all day!

Anyway, we got home, and asked Mike how he liked Lauren's open house. He said, "I didn't. Those people acted like they were too good for us." We didn't know what he meant, so he explained, "That Iranian doctor and his kids kept pointing to you and Holly and making obscene gestures." I guess they were pretty bad, because Mike wouldn't even show us what they were doing. He said they made fun of me a lot more than they did Mom, though... What I wonder is why were they making fun of me? I wish I'd have known. I don't know why it did, but it really upset me. I guess it just reminded me of high school...

My dad asked me if I felt bad that I didn't get an open house, since I didn't get to finish high school. I said no. Truthfully, I did feel a little bad, though. My mom said that she will throw me an open house when I get my G.E.D., but I told her I don't want one. I mean, what would be the point? I had like, four friends in high school, and the rest of the kids just made fun of me. That's part of the reason why I didn't make it through school. And... you know, it's not really a diploma. It's a "Good Enough Diploma," as Chris Rock would say. Well, I've gotta do some G.E.D. book work. Don't worry, Mondie, I'll take your Newsies survey soon!
